How it started
In Mid 2000, i have a good friend af mine to discuss possibility of bringing a new and exciting event to the Brazilian Community living in and around the greater Boston, MA. Brazilians were used to the concertes and music festivals performed by a nunber of artists from their homeland so we decided it would be a good idea to sponsor some sort event in the region.
Being a soccer lover for many years - like most brazilians - i didn't have to think twice! i started by caling some f the 1994 World Cup Champions from that legendaru Brazilian National Team and other important World soccer players. What a success! since that time, we have organized over 10 events, achieving results way above expections of both brazilians and americans that one way or another took part on the events.
On Setpember tha 4th, 2000, the game was completely sold a great succes led to an invitation by the Boston Buldogs to perform in a series of 3 games in the following year. All 2 games atracted a very excited crowd. In 2002 we played against the Athletic Club of Miami, Florida, a team based on the city's local Haitian community. That game took place in the very traditional Miami Orange Bowl. A year later, to celebrate the universary of Usimias, our players once aigan, had the opportunity to show their skills with the soccer ball. The field was the "ipatingão" in the city of ipatinga, Minas Gerais State, in South Eastern Brazil.
in 2004, our biggest event yet! 10,000 fans were in the Orange Ball in Miami, Florida, to watch the Brazilian Masters face the Haiti National team. A trully show on the soccer field! in the summer of 20005 another big event. This time it happened i toronto, Canada, were brazilian immigrants living in that country had the chance to see live their heroes and another great soccer game.
Our nest game will take place in Framingham, MA. Our opponent will be the young and Framingham State College Team. This is going to be a very, very special event for us all. Tickets are already for sale. The price is $8,00 and all revenues will be sent to Non Profit Organizations like the Framingham Park and Recreation Departament, BRAMAS - Brazilian American Association and to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We love see everybody there as we are going to make sure, a great celebration will take place. please come and join on this humanitaritarian crusade!
and just as i am writing this, i am very happy to anouce that our Brazilians Masters were invited in Angola, in Africa.
I hope to see you there too!
